Warnow Crossing

Project description

The Rostock Tunnel is a city tunnel crossing the Warnow River in the City of Rostock, going to connect the eastern and western part of the town. The tunnel has two tubes, each comprising two lanes and a central wall. The total length, including approaches, is 1500 m of which 800 m is enclosed. The immersed part consists of 6 tunnel elements each with a length of 120 m. The design of the tunnel is according to the German category B tunnel classification.

The project in Rostock is the first B.O.T. project in Germany.
The main partner in the consortium that realises the project is the French contractor Bouygues Traveaux Publics.

Scope of work

The main task of TEC is to review all documents concerning marine activities for the immersed tunnel. TEC is also leading in the supervision of those activities.
