The Noordelijke Randweg The Hague is a local connection in preparation from Leidschendam with the Hubertusflyover and connects from there to the roads to the centre of The Hague and Scheveningen. The part that connects to the Hubertusflyover, which is situated in the municipality of The Hague, will mostly be situated below surface. The proposed route runs parallel to the Oude Waalsdorperweg, is situated on the grounds of the Frederik and Alexander barracks and cross the landscape valuable Hubertusduin. The total route has a length of ± 200 m, the underground part has, inclusive the slip roads, a length of 1700 m.

Scope of work

  • Feasibility study
    In this phase the technical and economical proposition of the various possibilities of execution for the tunnel is investigated. Besides bored alternatives also the traditional methods are investigated in this phase.
  • Preliminary design
    In this phase the traditional construction method is detailed further till preliminary design. Advising had also reference to design and fitting in into the landscape of the slip roads.
  • Final design
    In this phase the plan based on cut & cover method is in co-operation with the Engineering-Bureau of the Municipality of The Hague detailed on final design level.
