Public Transport Zuid Tangent

Project description

The new transportation line, “Zuid Tangent”, is a high quality public transportation line for buses and trams that runs between the city of Haarlem and Schiphol East. TEC was asked by the Schiphol Group to provide the design of a tunnel for Zuid Tangent to cross the new A5 motorway, the existing A4 motorway, as well as an airplane taxi lane at Schiphol airport. The ramps descending to the tunnel’s entrance consist of U-shaped concrete sections.  The first part of the tunnel was built simultaneously with the runway “Zwanenburgbaan” and during the temporary rerouting of the highway A4 due to construction of a second train tunnel. The tunnel crosses the new A5 motorway, the existing A4 and a taxiway of Schiphol Airport.
