A5 Airplane Taxiway Viaduct

Project description

The project on Schiphol Airport concerns the crossing of the south taxiway going from the main terminal building to the 5th runway with the new motorway Verlengde Westrandweg (A5)- still to be constructed. The A5, is a 2×2 lane motorway with a hard shoulder. The new highway A5 had to be constructed below ground level to allow for planes to cross over it. The total length of the structure is 1100-m, on which a viaduct as well as closed tunnel with a width of 160-m was constructed for this project. In the design account has been made for a second roadway for satellite traffic in the future.
