TEC at World Tunnel Congress Croatia
TEC participated in the 41st General Assembly and Congress of International Tunneling Association ITA – AITES which was held in Croatia from May 22 to 28. TEC took the opportunity to promote immersed tunnels which suits the main theme of the Congress which was ‘Promoting Tunnelling in See region’. Our immersed tunnel experts participated in the ITA Working Group 11 meetings and we had a shared exhibition stand: ‘Joined specialists in immersed tunnels’.
Vice-animator of WG11 Eelco van Putten: “Last decade has been exciting times for immersed tunnel experts. New innovations have made the immersed tunnel technique far more competitive compared to bridges and other tunnel techniques. TEC has been prominently involved in all the big construction projects (such as Busan Geoje fixed link, the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel, HZMB project and the Sharq Crossing) where we feel it is important to ‘not’ to keep the experience to ourselves, but share our knowledge and make this technique available for new markets”.
