Successful immersion of first element HZMB China
On 6th May the first tunnel element of the HongKong Zhuhai Macau Link has been successfully immersed by the Chinese Contractor. The whole operation from towing out of the dry dock till the connection with the abutment on the West Artificial Island took place in 4 days. For this first immersion operation some delay was caused by unexpected sedimentation of the gravel bed just at the cut off section of the artificial Island. The immersion operation was redone after cleaning and adjustment of the gravel bed. We have congratulated the Contractor CCCC and the Client with this achievement and are looking forward on good cooperation on the immersion of the next, and deeper, 32 Elements the coming 3 years.
